quick facts [February 24, 2010 @ 1:55pm]

  • Name: Josephine Grace Dorny
  • Age: 19
  • House: Slytherin
  • Blood Status: Muggleborn

  • Parents: Henry (deceased) and Isabel Dorny.
  • Siblings: None

  • Wartime: Josephine was brought in for questioning after she was arrested at King's Cross Station, where she was attempting to board the Hogwarts Express for her Seventh Year. She was taken to the Ministry for interrogation, and was told there that her father had been killed at the station trying to protect her from the Snatchers. In a state of shock, she was unable to answer them when repeatedly asked whom she had stolen her magic from, and what she intended to do with it, and after three days in custody was sent to Azkaban prison. While there, she befriended the boy who occupied the adjacent cell, Benjamin Dunstan, and credits him with being the only reason she maintained her sanity. She escaped during a massive break-out orchestrated by the Order of the Phoenix, and it was during this that she saw Benjamin clearly for the first time, just before he saved her life by diving in front of a hex. She lost track of him during the escape, and has not seen him since.

  • Post-War: Under the new Ministry, Josephine was quickly given a position in the Muggle Relations Office, where she handles restitution and reparation claims made by Muggleborns who suffered during the war. She is still close to her mother, but chooses to live on her own, finding the shared grief for her father too much to bear. She is trying to reconcile the betrayal she feels at having been abandoned by her Slytherin classmates and the Magical world in general with her desire to remain a part of both societies. She maintains few friendships in the Muggle world, but tries to experience it as often as possible. She considers living the dual life both necessary to prove that it is possible to exist in both worlds and as a tribute to her father's memory.
